Posted at 10:34 – December Corn is down 5 cents a bushel, November Soybeans are down 19 1/4 cents, September KC Wheat is down 21 1/2 cents, September Chicago Wheat is up down 9 1/4 cents and Minneapolis wheat for September is down 6 3/4 cents. The Dow Jones Industrial Average is down 235.27 points and Crude Oil is down $2.05 a barrel in September. The US dollar index is up 0.320 and gold is down $8.00 an ounce in December. Wheat markets rejected the early strength and are now trading much lower. Soybeans are sharply down since the start of the day on beneficial rains in the central corn belt, and there’s more to come over the next two weeks. Losses in corn are widening, with ethanol production falling 2.5% last week to 1.067 million barrels a day.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average is down 169.82 points and Crude Oil is down $0.58 a barrel in September. The US Dollar Index is up 0.160 and Gold is up $3.10 an ounce in December. Wheat markets reversed their initial gains, trading lower for a minute but then back up. Corn is little changed and soybeans remain sharply down on improving weather in the central US. Some beneficial rain falls in the middle of the country.

Live cattle are down $1.50 in October to $180.325, feed cattle in September are down $2.48 to $249.425, lean hogs are down $1.30 to 84 in October, Down $35, Corn in December is down 3 3/4 cents a bushel and Soybean Meal is down $6.90 in December. The Dow Jones Industrial Average is down 250.55 points. Around noon it is very quiet in Cash Cattle Country, bids and asking prices are difficult to determine. Beef cuts are mixed at noon (selection $304.25 -1.85, selection $280.51 +0.91) with 62 loads. The pork cutout is $115.05 – $0.51, at 177.64 total loads.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average is down 123.74 points. Tuesday’s big gains in box beef cutouts were very revealing; The seasonal low in wholesale beef prices may very well have arrived. All remains quiet in the forage area this morning, bids and asking prices not yet fully settled.
