Unemployment claims: New jobless claims, an indicator of layoffs, are expected to have risen to 218,000 last week, compared with a monthly low of 212,000 in the previous seven-day period.
US economic data: The annual rate of existing home sales is expected to have risen in January after falling to its lowest level in nearly 30 years in December. Meanwhile, S&P Global will release its manufacturing and services purchasing managers' indices, with February readings expected to be slightly below January's.
Fedspeak: Philip Jefferson, vice chair of the Federal Reserve, will speak about the U.S. economic outlook and monetary policy at the Peterson Institute for International Economics in Washington. Fed Governor Lisa Cook will deliver a speech on economic uncertainty at a conference at Princeton University. Former Fed Chairman Ben Bernanke will appear at the same conference. Fed Governor Christopher Waller will deliver a speech on the economic outlook at the University of St. Thomas in Minneapolis.
