Posted at 10:43 a.m. – The price of corn for May is down 1 cent per bushel and the price of soybeans for May is down 4 3/4 cents per bushel. May KC wheat is up 1 3/4 cents per bushel, May Chicago wheat is up 2 1/2 cents per bushel and May Minneapolis wheat is up 1 1/4 cents. The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 60.41 points to 38,888.61, the U.S. dollar index rose 0.080 to 104.06 and April crude oil rose $0.33 a barrel to $78.87. Wheat remains higher, but soybeans are down again after hitting another low and rising. Corn is trading slightly lower and is relatively firmer with zero deliveries.

May KC wheat fell 3 3/4 cents per bushel, May Chicago wheat fell 5 cents per bushel and May Minneapolis wheat fell 2 1/2 cents. The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 77.38 points to 39,026.40 and the US dollar index fell 0.160 to 103.82 and April crude oil rose $0.29 a barrel to $78.83. Grain and soy markets are lower heading into leap day, with soybeans leading the downtrend. Stronger than expected soybean deliveries, with JP Morgan (likely Cargill) delivering 700 contracts over the March contract. Deliveries of wheat and bean oil also exceeded expectations, but there were no deliveries of corn and soybean meal. Congress agreed to a short-term agreement to avert a government shutdown.
Posted at 11:43 a.m. – April live cattle are down $0.40 to $185,725, April feeder cattle are down $1.68 to $253,425, April lean hogs are down $0.50 to $86.5 increased, May corn was down 1/4 cent per bushel and May soybean meal was up $2.30. The Dow Jones Industrial Average is down 79.05 points. In the north, some sales were reported with a live value of $183, in line with last week's business. Up north, bidding is at $290, but no dress sales have been reported at this time.
Posted 08:38 — April live cattle are down $0.28 to $185.85, April feeder cattle are down $0.43 to $254,675, April lean hogs are down $0.05 to 86.05 $ increased, May corn was down 4 cents per bushel and May soybean meal was down $3.70. The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 75.10 points. Net sales of beef in 2024 were 12,200 tonnes, down 3% from the previous week and 26% below the previous four-week average. The three largest buyers were Japan (4,300 mt), South Korea (2,000 mt) and Mexico (1,300 mt). Net sales of 32,400 tons of pork in 2024 were up 12% from the previous week but down 11% from the previous 4-week average. The three largest buyers were Mexico (14,500 mt), South Korea (5,200 mt) and Canada (3,500 mt).
