CME Group opens registration for its 19th Annual Global University Trading Challenge 2022

CHICAGO, August 22, 2022 /PRNewswire/ — CME Group, the world’s leading derivatives marketplace, is calling on global college students interested in careers in finance and markets to register for its annual University Trading Challenge, which will be held during October 2022. Registration for the global education competition begins today.

Now in its 19th year, the CME Group University Trading Challenge offers undergraduate and graduate teams the opportunity to experience the excitement, energy and decision-making required for real-time futures trading across a range of CME Group markets across multiple asset classes requires a simulated professional trading platform provided by CQG. Educational content and market commentary will also be made available to all participants. During the four-week challenge, participating students will receive live market updates via Dow Jones Newsfeeds and The Hightower Report.

University teams can participate in a student-led team or in collaboration with a faculty advisor. Beginning today, Consultants have access to early registration to register their teams 9:00 a.m. CT. The registration for the general student body is opened Wednesday, September 7th at 9:00 a.m. CTand connects Thursday, 09/29 at 5:00 p.m. CT. The live competition starts on Sunday October 2nd at 5:00 p.m. CT and connects Friday October 28th at 4:00 p.m. CT.

Participants can register via this link and are encouraged to refresh their knowledge of the market through the wide range of resources available through the Trading Challenge portal.

Last year, a total of 386 teams with more than 1,500 students from 24 countries competed, with the winning team coming from Colombia’s University of Bogota Jorge Tadeo Lozano.
