Nationwide Iowa – The jobless rate in Iowa has fallen again from the figures announced for February. Iowa Workforce Development Director, Beth Townsend, says the monthly data contained many positive numbers.

She says there are several things that have helped bring down the unemployment rate.

The number of job seekers also increased in February. According to Townsend, some of the current economic factors are at play.

Democrats have criticized the job counts, saying they include people who have to work two jobs because the jobs don’t pay enough.

The seasonally adjusted unemployment rate in Iowa fell to 3.5 percent in February from 3.7 percent in January. The unemployment rate fell in February from four point four percent a year ago.
