A new report shows the economic impact of the Ninety Six National Historic Site in Ninety Six, South Carolina, has doubled over the past decade. The annual report is prepared by the National Park Service. Park Superintendent Joshua Manley said the report shows that in 2022, nearly 110,000 visitors to the Ninety Six National Historic Site spent more than $7 million in communities near the park. Manley said the spending supported 101 jobs in the area and had a cumulative benefit to the local economy of more than $9.6 million. “Here we receive a mixture of visitors from all over the country and sometimes also international visitors. We have everyday hikers, we have routine fishermen, hikers, history buffs, and then the national park enthusiasts. It doesn’t matter why they come or where they come from.” “They spend their hard-earned dollars right around here,” Manley said. Manley said the Ninety Six National Historic Site was the site of two Revolutionary War battles, but it offers something for everyone, not just history buffs. “National parks serve as places to find green space and outdoor recreation.
