The U.S. Latino economy is thriving. Recent reports from the Latino Donor Collaborative show that Latino GDP in the United States has reached $3.2 trillion. This number by itself makes it the fifth largest global economy.
According to Sol Trujillo, co-founder of L’ATTITUDE, the Latino population in the United States is currently about 65 million people, with a projected increase to 100 million in the next 25 years. Trujillo told Yahoo Finance that this represents a significant portion of expected U.S. growth, so the broader economy needs to recognize the opportunities within the rapidly growing Latino population. Trujillo emphasized that understanding and marketing this cohort will be critical to the success of companies.
“It’s important for capitalists, people who have capital and believe in investing where the growth is,” says Trujillo, adding: “If you’re a political leader, you should understand the value of the cohorts that You vote or you don’t vote.” You or people who will stimulate the economy in each of your states, cities or… regions, because the Latino cohort is now driving growth in virtually every state based on all the data here, 48 of them 50 states.”
