The forum of business leaders urges the government to focus on supporting the economy during the war
A forum of 200 business leaders is calling on the government to stop transferring coalition funds and instead implement a wartime economic aid plan.
In a public appeal to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich, the economic forum, which consists of the heads of around 200 of the largest companies in the Israeli economy, calls on the government to take immediate action to ensure economic resilience on the home front.
“Although we have already been at war for a month, no substantial economic plan has yet been launched to support the economy in general and the affected companies and households in particular,” the economic forum said in a statement. “Most of the statements have not yet become actions, and hundreds of companies and therefore households are now collapsing.”
“It’s time to stop talking and take action!” The forum insists.
In addition, the forum demands that the government fundamentally change the order of priorities in the national budget in order to prevent a long-term economic disaster.
“All coalition budgets and all other budgets not related to managing the war or supporting the economy must be redirected exclusively to financing the war and economic strengthening of the home front – businesses and households – with an emphasis on creating long-term Goals must be “long-term growth,” explains the forum.
