Taylor Swift's Eras Tour and Box Office Success Boosted the Economy | Don't miss this

Taylor Swift's superstardom shines brightly on the economy. According to Pollstar Boxoffice, their Eras tour is already the highest-grossing world tour of all time. Just nine months after launching in the United States, Mexico and South America in March, it passed the $1 billion mark, with an overseas tour still scheduled for 2024. In June, research group QuestionPro found that fans were spending an average of more than $1,300 spent on attending Taylor Swift shows. The sold-out performances, as well as hotel stays, restaurants and travel, are expected to have an economic impact of $5 billion, greater than the GDP of 50 countries. A California group says the singer's six shows in Los Angeles grossed $320 million and created 3,300 jobs in L.A. County. Economists in Colorado estimated that Swift's performances in Denver brought in $140 million nationally. Kansas City says their two-day stay grossed $200 million. And major ticketing platforms say when the singer started dating Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, some gameday seats were selling for as much as $10,000. Swift even gave a local business a major prize boost after wearing one of his vintage hoodies to a football game. Swift's Eras Tour continues next February with nearly 80 shows across four continents. READ MORE: Taylor Swift's concert film hits streaming services as she turns 34
