Dear Editor,
In Sunday’s column, Scott Reeder appeared to imply that the economy is the only issue that will send people to the polls, dismissing the likelihood that the Supreme Court’s recent decisions and orders could also worry many.
Sigh. The questions regarding the fall of Roe v. Wade are bigger and more far-reaching than just a woman’s right to an abortion. The question arises as to whether or not a woman has the same civil rights as a man. Does she have the right to make the same personal choices as a man? Does her full citizenship depend on the state she resides in? It’s not just about abortion, it’s about treating women as competent adults, capable of making decisions based on their needs and beliefs.
