LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) – A new poll shows Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer giving high marks despite some concerns about the economy.
The poll, conducted by Lansing company EPIC MRA, shows that half of respondents believe the state is on the right track, while 38% believe it is going in the wrong direction.
More than half of those polled also appear to believe in Governor Whitmer.
Her positive rating is 58%, with 53% saying she does her job “excellent” or “fairly well.”
Despite the positive sentiment for Governor Whitmer, the Michiganders have growing concerns about the state’s economy.
Only one in three respondents rated Michigan’s economy positively. Six out of ten say it’s only “fair” or “bad.”
The poll of 600 voters was split evenly between Republicans and Democrats and took place between November 30th and December 6th. The margin of error was plus or minus 4%.
