71% of respondents believe legalizing cannabis will improve states’ economies
KSNF/KODE — Recreational marijuana could be legal in half the country after November’s election. Arkansas, Maryland, Missouri, North Dakota and South Dakota are urging voters to legalize recreational marijuana. They would join 19 other states and the District of Columbia that already allow recreational cannabis.
The Missouri Amendment would legalize cannabis for those 21 and older. If the change is passed, Missourians could start buying and growing cannabis for personal use as early as this year. Missouri voters approved medical marijuana in 2018. Missouri lawmakers have failed to pass recreational marijuana on at least two occasions, prompting proponents to go to voters for approval instead.
Now, less than two weeks before the midterm elections, new research released this week shows that 71% of respondents believe legalizing cannabis will improve states’ economies. In a poll of 1,000 Americans, 67% support full cannabis legalization and 9 in 10 support some form of legalization. Many of the respondents are residents of states with cannabis policies in the November election, such as Missouri.
Proponents hail Biden’s marijuana decision and call for legalization
When it comes to the value of your home, the study conducted by Real Estate Witch found that 27% of Americans believe legalizing cannabis will increase the value of your home, while only 16% believe legalizing cannabis will increase its value of your house lowers.
The study also found that most Americans (70%) would pay market price or more for a home near a cannabis-related facility such as a dispensary or weed lounge.
Recently, President Biden pardoned all previous federal offenses of simple cannabis possession. Although most respondents support some form of legalization, only 48% strongly support the deletion of nonviolent, cannabis-related records of convicted criminals.
