Since the writers’ strike began on May 2nd, celebrities have taken to the streets to support WGA members campaigning for a better guild contract. Actors like Fred Armisen are also writers and members of the WGA, while some SAG-AFTRA members support their peers.
With production on most TV shows and films suspended until the strike is resolved, stars, writers and filmmakers like Christopher Nolan have taken to the streets to show their support for members of the Writers Guild of America.
The clever signs and prominent appearances are helping the Writers Guild “win the PR war,” as the guild recently said. However, it will likely take some time before it becomes clear how many compromises the Writers Guild and the AMPTP, which represents producers and studios, will have to make in order to agree on a new deal.
