Many film fans love to dress up for the ceremony, which sees Europeans don their tuxedos in the middle of the night. But if you really want to experience the real taste of the 94th Academy Awards, you might have to spend.
For this year’s Oscars, a new champagne was chosen in favor of longtime pop singer Piper-Heidsieck.
His name? Fleur de Miraval.

The idea for this champagne “came from the merger of the Pitt and Perrin families, who had already combined the world of wine with art in 2012 by launching Miraval Côtes de Provence Rosé, and a third family with roots in Champagne for six generations: the The Péters family,” the producers told Euronews Culture.
ER2 is the name of this particular cuvée. 75% of this is Chardonnay, but batches from different vintages.
The remaining 25% are young Pinot Noirs from the Vertus terroir on the Côte des Blancs.
The wine ages on the lees for three years.
How does it taste?
I wish I knew. But here are some tasting notes from those in the know. Elizabeth Gabay MW sampled it for Decanter Magazine late last year.
“On the palate it has a tight mineral structure, dark black cherry fruit and some almond notes. Tastes very young and unflinching at first, but with time the glass opens to reveal beautifully open fruit and charming richness.”
