Vanessa Bryant took to social media to share various images to pay tribute to her late daughter, gigiwhat would have been her 17th birthday.
Kobe Bryant And gigi died in a helicopter crash in Calabasas, California on January 26, 2020. The crash also claimed the lives of another seven other people. The group was headed to a youth basketball tournament at Mamba Sports Academy in Thousand Oaks.
The accident was attributed to foggy weather conditions that caused the pilot to lose sight and control of the helicopter. The sudden and tragic loss of kobe and his daughter shocked the world and left a lasting impression on the basketball community and beyond. The first picture that vanessa posted shows Gigi posing on a horse in a carousel.
“Happy 17th birthday, little girl. Love you and miss you so much sweet angel,” read the caption.
vanessa continued to post other photos in separate posts that showed gigi and her sisters Natalia, Capri and Bianka pose for the cameras.
“We love you to the moon and back infinite +1,” read the caption. “Forever always.”
Meanwhile, Nike has launched the Mambacita Kobe IV Protro sneakers. Proceeds will be donated to the Mamba and Mambacita Sports Foundation.
“The coloring of the design is reminiscent of their youth basketball team’s uniform,” Nike said.
“The gingham check around the heel pays tribute to the flannel shirts gigi often worn around the waist. The Swoosh on the outsole is red, referring to the red bow gigi wore her hair for school photos.”
