It was a star-studded night at a Kolkata resto-pub where Nussrat Jahan and Yash Daasguptaa threw a party to mark the opening of their film and television production house, YD Films, on Saturday. They have also officially announced the name of their pilot production, Mentaaal. As previously reported, the film will be directed by Baba Yadav and will star Nutrat, Yash and Sayantani Ghosh.
The announcement came late in the evening as Ushoshi Sengupta unveiled the production house’s logo and unveiled the new movie poster. In her address to the audience, Nussrat thanked her industry peers for attending the event. “We stand together as an industry,” she said.
Yash said, “Our audiences got to know us through commercial masala films. With Mentaaal and other projects we want to bring that back.” He also said that with this production house they would like to take risks and make good commercial films. “Maybe we forgot to take risks. “This production house will be our opportunity to give back to the industry,” he said. Finally, he joked, “I promised Nutrat that we would have many babies together, and this is a baby that we created together. There will be many more to come in the future.”
From actors and actresses to directors, producers and musicians – a large number of prominent personalities gather for the event. While Birsa Dasgupta and Srijit Mukherji appeared to engage in light banter, Binodini director Ram Kamal Mukherjee, Sudeshna Roy, Abhijit Guha, Avijit Sen, Premendu Bikash Chaki and others were seen enjoying the party. Actresses Tnusree Chakraborty, Manali Dey, Kaushani Mukherjee, Srabanti Chatterjee, Susmita Chatterjee, Lahoma Bhattacharya and others enchant the evening in their lavish party outfits. Trina Saha and Neel Bhattacharya got together and were seen chatting with industry peers. Sandipta Sen and Beau Soumya Mukherjee got in touch late after attending another hit party. Bonny Sengupta, Kaushani and Srabanti were also late for the party, which lasted past midnight.
