So who is the most famous person in Texas?
A topic that’s constantly up for debate can be put to rest for now thanks to a poll that analyzed the top five celebrities from each US state.
Famouspeople.io conducted a survey of over 3,000 personalities from various fields and determined metrics on characteristics such as fame, likes and dislikes.

The data is based on a nationally representative survey of the US population, in which individuals were introduced to famous people and asked whether or not they were familiar with them.
Now before you read on, guess who the five most famous people from the Lone Star state are.
1. Beyonce
Shall we say more? Beyoncé took first place as the most famous person in the state, which makes a lot of sense. A well-loved artist, Beyoncé has made her mark on the music and fashion industries since her fame in the famous girl group Destiny’s Child. Meanwhile, she continues to make headlines around the world, most recently with her Renaissance World Tour, which kicked off in May.
2. Matthew McConaughey
If you’re from Texas, you know that love for Matthew McConaughey runs deep. McConaughey currently resides in Austin and has deep Texas roots from growing up in the state to attending the University of Texas. His films include Dazed and Confused, The Wedding Planner, Dallas Buyers Club (in which he won the Academy Award for Best Actor), and more.

3. Willie Nelson
Willie Nelson is one of the most notable Texas characters of all time and one of the most popular. Now 90, Nelson is one of the most popular musicians of all time, with famous hits like “On the Road Again” getting people all over the state singing along when you play them.

4.Jamie Foxx
Born in Terrell, Texas, Jamie Foxx has built an immense reputation, receiving a variety of highly respected awards from organizations such as the Academy Awards, Golden Globe Awards, and others. His most famous roles in the film industry include the films “Ray”, “Django Unchained”, “Annie” and more.
5. Selena Gomez
Selena Gomez, originally from Grand Prairie, Texas, has done a variety of things over the course of her career: from a makeup line to singing, acting, producing and more. Gomez started her career on the children’s show Barnie & Friends. She rose through the ranks as a child actress, eventually landing a starring role on the Disney Channel show Wizards of Waverly Place.
Now Gomez owns the Rare Beauty makeup line, produced the hit Netflix series Thirteen Reasons Why, and stars in Hulu’s Only Murders in the Building alongside Steve Martin and Martin Short, all while releasing music that inspires the chart breaks.
