No special hardware is required to access Bing Chat, nor is there any software exclusivity. No matter you run macOS or Windows on your computer, you can play Bing Chat without any limitations. Interestingly, just two weeks ago, Microsoft ported the Bing chat experience to the Edge browser for Android and iOS. In addition, the same feature is also available in the standalone Bing app for the mobile platform.
On desktop, you don’t have to switch browsers or even switch search engines. Just go to Bing.com and do any search you want. On the search results screen, you’ll see a Bing chat interface in a box near the right edge of the screen. The easiest way is to download the standalone Bing app or the mobile version of the Edge browser from the App Store or Google Play Store. This test was primarily run with the Bing mobile app installed on an iPhone.
The only obstacle you might encounter is the waiting list system. When you launch Bing.com from your browser for the first time, you will be prompted to sign in with your Microsoft account to be added to the waitlist, and you will also see a suggestion to download the Edge browser to access continue up the waiting list. However, if you are in a hurry, you can try this browser extension called Bing Chat for all browsers, which only requires signing in with your Microsoft account and works in Chrome and Firefox browsers.
