The Property Brothers Open Up About Celebrities Crying, Including Halle Berry And One Star They Were Surprised About

A-list celebrities that most people know from TV, music, or movies can be seen as far from real life, but sometimes fans get a glimpse of what they’re like in real life. Nowhere is this more evident than on Property Brothers spinoff Celebrity IOU, where the Hollywood elite are recruited by the Scott twins to renovate for someone special — and it gets pretty emotional. Amid the show’s currently airing third season, the Property Bros. opened up on the celebs who’ve been reduced to crying in real life, like Academy Award-winner Halle Berry and those they were genuinely surprised by.

In fact, several great stars are slated for Season 3 of Celebrity IOU. Friends fame’s Lisa Kudrow will be brandishing a hammer, and John C. Reilly’s “Funky Cabin Makeover” for a pal is imminent. What we haven’t seen, however, is the crying of the former Catwoman or a major music business star (and co-host of the American Song Contest). However, Drew Scott of Property Brothers promised People both are in stock this season. he shared

As soon as they cry, we cry. We brought Halle Berry to tears. Snoop actually brought us to tears [Dogg], which surprised me a lot. Many of these celebrities are big teddy bears and when it matters most, there are waterworks.

Snoop Dogg’s Waterworks? Veteran actress Halle Berry is less surprising, but Snoop, but Snoop seems surprising, as noted by Drew Scott. Let’s not forget that the Property Brothers have also elicited emotion from Brad Pitt and Melissa McCarthy in the past. Snoop has also shown his softer side as a TV co-host.

The Scott brothers explained that Halle Berry’s stint on Celebrity IOU included renovating their fifth grade teacher’s home in Ohio. Additionally, the actress would apparently juggle regular flights to Cleveland to be a part of things while filming another project at the same time. (Most likely, Berry was still in the middle of filming The Mothership, a sci-fi movie that came to Netflix and reportedly wrapped last August.)

Meanwhile, the job that seemed to get Snoop Dogg to tears wasn’t his new streaming show, which is COPS meets America’s Funniest Home Videos. And not his tenure as host of the American Song Contest, which he once openly said hated the rehearsals. It was actually converting the commissioner’s garage from his youth soccer league to Celebrity IOU, the brothers say.

Jonathan Scott also recalled that Tiffany Haddish became another victim of the show’s tears festival. Scott mused that the “Like A Boss” star often uses comedy to ease tension in the room, but by now they know when emotions rise. Haddish was spotted helping her best friend of 20 years in the season 3 premiere of Celebrity IOU, and according to Property Bros, “It just gets on your nerves.” Scott continued,

That’s the whole thing we love about Celebrity IOU. It just doesn’t feel like work. It’s about having a good time and giving back to people and we cry a lot. Tears of joy.

Tears of joy aka Drew Scott’s expected reaction as his baby is about to be born with wife Linda.
