Liam Neeson is known for being Taken’s unstoppable father, among a number of other iconic roles.
But the Irish-born actor wasn’t always on the star-studded Hollywood path.
Before he found fame, Neeson trained as a teacher in the UK. He worked at a college and was fired for hitting a student after he pulled out a knife.
“He was a big guy too, about 15 years old,” Neeson told The Chronicle.
“I had to hit him and was then reprimanded for hitting the kid.”
He added: “My reaction was to hit him, which I shouldn’t have done, but I felt threatened.”
That was in the 1970s and Neeson later went to the Belfast Lyric Players Theater where he discovered his passion for acting.
