Sharon stonethe iconic actress best known for her role in “primal instinct,” recently gave a heartfelt speech at the Women’s Cancer Research Fund (WCRF) fundraiser. When accepting the price of braveryshe shared that she lost half her fortune in what she described as a “banking thing” that happened recently and is believed to be related to the company’s collapse Silicon Valley Bank.
“I know it’s difficult to figure out how to text the money. I’m a technical idiot, but I can write an F-King check,” she said, stressing the importance of taking action yourself when it’s not easy.

This was followed by Stone’s emotional speech collapse of the SVB and stock market volatility. The actress did not give any further details California Department of Treasury Protection and Innovation closed SVB after it reported it suffered a $1.8 billion loss from a distressed sale of its $21 billion bond holdings.
Despite losing her money and her brother’s recent death, Stone encouraged others to stand up and appreciate their lives: “This is not an easy time for any of us,” she shared. “This is a tough time in the world but I’ll tell you what, I’m not going to let any politician tell me what I can and can’t do.”

Stone‘s speech was given at the Unforgettable benefit gala of the Women’s Cancer Research Fund in Beverlyhills. Rebel Wilson, Nia Vardalos, Rachel Zoe, Lisa Rinna and Harry Hamlin, Julianne Hough and Chord Overstreet were among the participants.
Stone herself underwent surgery in 2001 to remove benign tumors larger than her breast alone. She also spoke about being misdiagnosed in November, which turned out to be a “large fibroid” that required surgery.
Despite their struggles Stone continues to inspire others to have courage and stand up for what they believe in, even when the going gets tough. As she said, “Get up and say what you’re worth. I challenge you. That is courage.”
