Sharmila Tagore spills beans on ‘how celebrities sometimes sign films only for money’

Sharmila Tagore’s Gulmohar is set to premiere March 3 on Disney+Hotstar

Saif Ali Khan’s mother, Sharmila Tagore, reveals that actors sometimes sign a film for money or to rent their house.

During the promotional event for the film Gulmohar, Sharmila revealed this insider detail.

She added: “Well, we as professionals sometimes sign a film for money just to pay the rent. Sometimes we help a colleague or someone who thinks if I’m in the project the project will go well. So I did movies for a lot of reasons,” she said, adding, “And I think overall I did it because I liked the script and it was necessary at the time.”

Tagore also voiced her character Kusum in the film. She explained, “In Gulmohar there are layers in the character, just like in real life. Many people of our generation or older people overlook their own desires to ease or cope or to give to the younger generation. For a woman, this is quite natural. But it is important to understand that there is nothing wrong with prioritizing your desire.”

The actress is pretty sure that the movie lovers would love the movie as she couldn’t get over it even after watching it three times.

Gulmohar also plays Manoj Bajpayee, Amol Palekar, Simran Rishi Bagga, Suraj Sharma and many others. The film will premiere on March 3 on Disney+Hotstar, reports News18.
