A Federal judge sentences musicians R kelly in several cases of child pornography and sexual abuse in Chicago.
This is the second time R. Kelly has taken a blow to himself in his pursuit of his innocence for his multiple counts.
Singer R. Kelly convicted of multiple counts of sexual abuse
R. Kelly was convicted of three counts of child pornography and three counts of child seduction. However, the jury acquitted the musician of a fourth charge of pornography and one charge of conspiracy to obstruct justice.
Who was involved in the R. Kelly case?
Darrel McDavid and Milton Brown were involved in the same process as R. Kelly. However, the jury found McDavid “not guilty”.
Derrel McDavid was the musician’s business manager. McDavid was accused of conspiring with Kelly to set up the 2008 trial.
R. Kelly faced 13 charges against him. A single child pornography conviction carries a minimum sentence of five years.
Depending on the case, judges may order defendants previously sentenced in separate cases to serve their new sentences simultaneously or after the first sentence has been fully served.
Defendants must serve at least 85% of their sentence to allegations of child pornography.

In June 2022, evidence presented to a Chicago jury was compelling to prove that the singer, songwriter and record producer used his power to woo inexperienced young girls.
Kelly’s intention was to sexually abuse her. They were also threatened not to reveal the incident in court.
The jury found Kelly guilty and sentenced him to 30 years in prison to make up for the great harm he had done to the girls.
Kelly’s attorneys argued in court documents that he “experienced a traumatic childhood that included severe and ongoing childhood sexual abuse, poverty and violence.
