The documentary Quiet On Set sparked widespread excitement when it was released earlier this month after exposing the hidden underbelly of children's television – but now a final episode has aired filled with even more shocking claims from former cast and crew members.

The original four-part reveal about Nickelodeon promised to “pull back the curtain on an empire built by creator Dan Schneider that had an undeniable impact on popular culture in the 1990s and early 2000s.”

One of the biggest blows of the show were the allegations that Schneider had “demoted” employees. before being sued for gender discrimination, hostile work environment and harassment.

Drake Bell returned in the latest episode of the Quiet On Set documentary to tell host Soledad O'Brien what motivated him to persuade him to take part in the exposé after so many years.

“Deciding to take part was a difficult decision. “It was a really hard decision because I had been approached before and I wasn't ready and I said no,” he shared.

But he said the staff on the documentary “Quiet on Set” helped him and made him “feel really comfortable.”

“I felt like I was able to open up…I just felt like maybe now is the time to tell my story.”

In previous episodes he had disclosed the abuse he suffered at the hands of Brian Peck, describing them as “unspeakable acts.”

“The abuse was extensive and became quite brutal.” “I really don't know how to explain it on camera,” he explained in a previous episode.

“And I just sat there and wanted to die. It was like, “What the hell am I doing here?”

Reflecting on Will's comments, Drake was asked by Soledad if the recognition changed his outlook on that day in court.

He answered candidly, “No.” I worked with Will on Spiderman and there were many opportunities to apologize or talk about it, but I never did.

“But it’s also a very difficult topic to address, especially in a work environment.”

Drake continued: “The difficult thing is that everyone deals with their trauma in different ways.

“Everyone comes to different conclusions at different times in their lives and at different times.”

“I really appreciate their perspective now, but that day is so ingrained in my memory and there are so many people who… no one reached out to me.”

Drake said it “baffles” him that the abuse wasn't a major scandal at the time, considering there was more than one predator working at Nickelodeon.

He pointed to production assistant Jason Handy, who had a “vast trove of child pornography” that included more than 10,000 images of children, and continued: “The fact that these two cases happened so close together on the same network on the same show allowed it him.” as a registered sex offender to work on other shows, to work on other children’s programs, on other children’s channels.

“It was just incredible.”

Soledad asked what it was like for Drake to watch the allegations against the former Nickelodeon writer, to which he replied, “It was very difficult to watch because I can only speak from my experience and take nothing from anyone else's experience.

“All I can say is that during that time with Brian, Dan was really the only one in the network who made any effort at all to help me and make sure I was okay.”

Discussion of child actors as a whole, particularly regarding the “troubled” Amanda Bynes, who appeared in a “disturbing” hot tub scene with Schneider during her time on the show, Drake shared, “We've lost so many who are no longer here.” I've seen tragedy after tragedy in this industry and it's just heartbreaking.

“For many years I didn’t want to talk about it at all. Not in therapy, not with my friends, not with my family. “A lot of things happened in my personal life that were really difficult and I went into a kind of spiral, to put it better.”

Drake said it wasn't until he went to rehab that he began to face his trauma head-on.

“Obviously things like drunk driving and decisions I've made in my life are decisions I've made, so I have to take responsibility for those things.”

“But it's really insightful to get to the root cause. 'Where did this come from?'

The new episode of the series then aired a never-before-seen excerpt from Drake's original interview about how he dealt with the trauma.

“Many times my feelings, my inner thoughts and what I was going through would creep in and bother me, but luckily I wrote songs and expressed my feelings through music.”

“I think that was really my therapy back then.”

He added: “Music is like my diary or my diary.” “I've always written about my life, and after making this documentary I just started writing more and more and more – and it started to pour out of me.”

Drake shared that his new song titled “I Kind Of Relate” – and its accompanying music video – expressed his experiences.
