New Delhi: Actress Poonam Pandey's official Instagram account on Friday shared that she died of cervical cancer. The statement said: “This morning is a hard day for us. I am deeply saddened to inform you that we have lost our beloved Poonam to cervical cancer. Every living being that ever came in contact with her was treated with pure love and kindness.” In times of grief, we would ask for privacy and remember her fondly for all we shared with her.
The news of Poonam's death could not be independently verified by ABP Live, although the actor's PR team told us that the “news is true.” Poonam's last post on Instagram was three days ago. In the video, she is seen wearing white and black clothing and the caption reads: “White and black: the yin and yang that balances my life.”
Kanpur-born Poonam first rose to fame when she promised to strip naked if the Indian cricket team won the 2011 Cricket World Cup. Although she didn't keep her promise, it garnered her a lot of media attention.
Poonam's acting career began in 2013 with the controversial film Nasha, an erotic thriller. She was also seen in “Malini & Co.” and “The Journey of Karma.” During her film career not reaching mainstream heights, She remained in the spotlight for her bold decisions.
