NEW YORK – The NBA announced today that “Playoffs on NBA Lane,” the latest chapter in the league’s 75th Anniversary seasonal campaign, will premiere Wednesday, March 30 on all @NBA social media platforms and will premiere on NBA.com/75. Featuring six NBA All-Stars and more than 20 NBA Legends, broadcasters, celebrities and notable faces from around the world, Playoffs on NBA Lane captures the excitement, culture and history of the NBA postseason.
Set in the fictional neighborhood of NBA Lane, which was featured in a film prior to the kickoff of the anniversary season, Playoffs on NBA Lane follows an illustrious group of NBA fans and legends as they invade the neighborhood arena in preparation for the NBA Playoffs 2022 powered by Google Pixel. As neighborhood kids ride to the game in the “Hoop Bus,” NBA broadcasters from past, present and around the world welcome fans to this special community where everyone gathers to watch another NBA postseason.
From NBA legends Reggie Miller and Chris Webber looking forward to the tip to actors and producers Issa Rae and Ben Stiller partying from afar, the familiar faces and names in the arena agree on one thing: “I love this one Game”. Inside the arena, the show is all about the stars on the court ready to compete in the playoffs including Golden State Warriors’ Stephen Curry, Chicago Bulls’ DeMar DeRozan, Dallas Mavericks’ Luka Dončić, Joel Embiid by the Philadelphia 76ers and the Cleveland Cavaliers. Darius Garland and Ja Morant from Memphis Grizzlies. Appropriately, the film is set to the instrumentals of Drake’s “Trophies” with Young Money, as each NBA team embraces the unique goal of the postseason.

“‘Playoffs on NBA Lane’ serves as a reminder of the energy and excitement that makes playoff basketball truly unique,” said Kate Jhaveri, the NBA’s chief marketing officer. “Throughout this season, our fans around the world have celebrated the NBA legends and moments that shaped this league, and now we’re all turning to the next generation of stars to continue pushing them forward and writing another chapter of the NBA Make playoff history. ”
As we peer into the future of NBA television broadcasting, “Playoffs on NBA Lane” enters the Metaverse with highlights infused with ESPN’s “NBA CourtView” 3D video technology. Additionally, beloved Fortnite characters Peely and Fishstick will be making appearances in the arena to announce both the NBA Postseason and the inclusion of an upcoming NBA Celebration emote, a first-ever in-game and voted for by millions of fans .
The short film, made in partnership with Translation LLC, was directed by Emmett and Brendan Malloy (“Easy Express” and “The Tribes of Palos Verdes”). “Playoffs on NBA Lane” will air on TV networks on Saturday, April 9th. Additionally, 15- and 30-second versions of the film will air across all platforms during the postseason.

The 2022 Play-In tournament will take place from April 12th to 15th. The 2022 NBA Playoffs powered by Google Pixel begin on Saturday, April 16th.
