Pakistani Celebrities Who Met Queen Elizabeth II
Queen Elizabeth II, Britain’s longest ruler and the country’s symbol for seven decades, died peacefully at Balmoral. Strong ties with Pakistan were maintained by the 96-year-old Queen, who visited the country twice between 1961 and 1997.
Queen Elizabeth II ruled over 15 nations. Her family gathered at her Scottish estate yesterday as her health became a concern.
And now that the Queen has passed away, Prince Charles has ascended the throne and assumed the title of King of England. Prince William is expected to succeed the current Prince of Wales as the monarch’s direct successor.
The late Queen made two trips to Pakistan during her 70-year reign, in 1961 and 1997, with her husband Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh. She traveled across the nation, stopping in Karachi, Peshawar, Quetta, Lahore and other cities.
