Omaha leaders gathered to speak and thank the one and only Terence “Bud” Crawford after thousands of people watched and attended a parade honoring his hometown hero. I told you we could do it.” Mayor Jean Stothert handed out awards to some coaches and staff at the B&B Sports Academy, which Crawford also helped found. Crawford thanked several people as he accepted the award from the microphone at the rally. He started by thanking God, because “without him none of this would be possible.” “It’s not just me who wins. We all win together,” he said. Crawford continued with an important message: “It’s always possible,” he said. “With hard work, dedication and faith, anything is possible, and I am living proof of that.” A message shared by many local parents shows why he is an important role model for their children. “Terence is very down to earth,” said Jessica King, an Omaha resident and mother. “He certainly represents our community, so I just want my son to understand that no matter how much you make, he still represents his hometown and just stays humble.” Another addition. “It’s great to have someone show us a path that gives us a good opportunity to know that even if you’re from a small town like Omaha, you can go anywhere,” said Sean Taylor, an Omaha resident and father . With the approval of the Omaha City Council, which she believes she will get, she will sell him the land north of his gym for $1 since it belongs to the city. Along with his love and support for Crawford, LL Cool J sent a special shout out to Omaha.
