Microsoft updated the Bing AI preview over the weekend with the ability to impersonate celebrities
Microsoft rolled out an interesting little update to Bing AI over the weekend that lets it pose as a celebrity.
First spotted by Bleeping Computer, the AI chatbot powered by OpenAI’s ChatGPT technology can now answer your questions while pretending to be a celebrity.

What’s interesting is that the mode is a bit hidden and you have to ask Bing AI about its celebrity chat mode.
Once the mode is activated, you can prompt the chatbot with “#celebrity #celebrity name” and it will answer you while emulating the characteristics of your chosen celebrity.

As different people tried out the feature, it quickly became apparent that Bing AI refused to mimic Donald Trump or US President Joe Biden, although it was fine to mimic Dwayne Johnson aka The Rock or Hollywood actors like Matthew McConaughey. Remarkably, Gizmodo even tricked the bot into impersonating Andrew Tate, complete with his misogynistic views.
One caveat that appears to be enforced by design is that the bot limits the dialogue to just what the celebs would say in real life, potentially a failsafe if someone tries to use the technology to talk to them in real life live as they spend.
