“We are all grieving,” the music artist noted, thanking the celebrities who spoke out in support of Israel.
Matthew Paul Miller, aka Matisyahu, spoke out against celebrities who refrain from commenting on the war in Israel. “We are all grieving and we all feel the weight of this terrible, terrible situation,” the 44-year-old reggae artist said exclusively HollywoodLife via FACTZ.
“For the people who are famous, who are out there and stand behind the Jews… I support them and say ‘thank you,’” Matisyahu said, adding, “And for the people who are too afraid to speak out , or the people who post posts and then remove them because they’re afraid of losing followers – and [that] You will lose some of your fame or reputation – I have to say, I feel sorry for you. It’s bigger than your brand.”

Kylie Jenner After receiving backlash, she posted a supportive message for Israel via her Instagram Stories over the weekend — and then deleted it. The message, which has since been deleted, read: “Now and always we stand with the people of Israel! SHARE as you stand with the people of Israel as they face one of the most frightening situations in many years.”
The “One Day” singer added that the war “isn’t just about Israel,” although “a lot of people try to say that.”
“This is about women and children being burned in the streets and taken from their homes, and this is not about land, this is a religious war,” he continued. “Israel must fight for its existence. Since the beginning of time, Jews have had to fight for their right to exist.”
The conflict between Israel and Hamas has been going on for years, but things came to a head last week when Hamas attacked communities in Israel’s Gaza Strip. Hamas fired scores of rockets at a music festival over the weekend, killing hundreds of civilians. The Palestinian militant group has ruled the Gaza Strip since seizing power in 2007.
Matisyahu noted that Israel “wants to live in peace” and explained what would happen if Hamas’ violence stopped.
“If all enemies of Israel laid down their arms now, there would be peace in the land and everyone would live,” he stressed, before emphasizing: “If Israel laid down their arms now, they would be abolished in one day; They would be massacred – men, women, children.”
The “King Without a Crown” artist then noted what he thinks will happen next between Israel and Hamas.
“The next step will probably be a serious war,” Matisyahu added. “I do not believe Israel will stand by as civilians – women, children, the elderly – are taken from their homes, paraded through the streets and massacred. I have a feeling Israel will respond in an unprecedented way.”
Matisyahu concluded: “Jews love to argue. We love to fight. We fight among ourselves. It’s a known thing. When Jews are targeted as Jews and women and children are burned in the streets, something comes alive in the Jewish people and we stand together.”
