Ina series of text messages revealed in court, actor Jonathan Majors appears to admit physical violence against his former partner, Grace Jabbari, months before his March arrest on assault charges in a separate domestic violence case. The messages Jabbari showed and read to jurors on her final day on the witness stand shed light on the alleged abuse she suffered.
In a message, Majors expresses concern about the consequences if Jabbari sought medical attention for her injuries. He warns her, saying, “I'm afraid you have no idea what could happen if you go to the hospital… it could lead to an investigation even if you lie and they suspect something.” Although Majors mentions that “it's just a fake,” the context of what he is referring to remains unclear.
JabbariShe reads another message, visibly emotional, assuring Majors that she will not blame him for the injury to her head. “I'm going to tell the doctor I hit my head,” she screams.
assistant District Attorney Kelli Galaway continues on Jabbari's behalf: “I'll tell the doctor I hit my head when I leave. I'll wait another day but I can't sleep and need stronger painkillers. That's all: Why would I do that?” I tell them what really happened when it's clear that I want to be with you?
Majors threatened suicide
In those September 2022 text messages, Majors allegedly threatened suicide if Jabbari sought medical attention for her head injury. He writes: “Last night I thought about killing myself instead of coming home… I need love too. Or maybe I'm such a monster and a terrible man, I don't deserve it. And I should just kill myself. “This way, my existence is miserable, I want to die.”
The revelation of these text messages adds additional weight to Jabbari's allegations of abuse and paints a disturbing picture of their relationship. The defense had sought to question Jabbari's credibility by highlighting her lack of memory regarding her injuries following the alleged incident in March 2023. Judge Michael Gaffey noted that the defense knew there could be other reasons for her lack of memory.
