Several prominent figures descended on Washington on Thursday as US President Joe Biden and First Lady Jill Biden hosted a state dinner honoring Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the White House.
“Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrives at the White House for a state dinner hosted by POTUS Joe Biden and FLOTUS Dr. Biden is held. A wonderful evening of cultural exchanges, strengthening ties and celebration of the enduring friendship between India and the US awaits you,” said Arindam Bagchi, official spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (India), in a tweet.
Over 380 guests were invited to the state dinner. The guest list included government officials, business leaders, elite athletes, a renowned violinist, a Hollywood director, the son of a civil rights icon, fashion designers and prominent Indian Americans.
Award-winning storyteller and podcaster Jay Shetty and filmmaker and actor M. Night Shyamalan were among the notable guests who attended the state dinner alongside Prime Minister Modi, Joe Biden and Jill Biden. Dior’s Maria Grazia Chiuri and Karishma Swali also attended.
Regarding the menu, multiple media outlets are reporting on Lemon Dill Sauce, Crunchy Millet Cake, Pumpkin, Marinated Millet and Grilled Kernel Salad, Watermelon, Spicy Avocado Sauce, Stuffed Mushrooms, Creamy Saffron Risotto, and Rose and Cardamom-Infused Strawberry at the big one Dinner was served shortcakes to the guests.
