Lisa Marie Presley’s ex-husband granted legal guardianship of their twins, against Lisa’s will

Michael Lockwoodex-husband of Lisa Marie Presleywas appointed legal guardian of their twin daughters, Harper and Finleyby LA Richter Lynn Healey Scaduto. Lockwood, a musician who was financially at risk after his offer to drop a postnup in their bitter divorce was turned down Elvis Presley‘s daughter, filed an application to become the girls’ legal guardian back in March. Lockwood’s attorney, Scott Rahnstated at the hearing that his client was “ready, able and willing to protect his interests”.

While some insiders have expressed concerns that this might not be what Lisa Marie wanted, Rahn insisted Lockwood has a good relationship with everyone involved and he has a legal and moral obligation to protect the twins’ interests.

However, plywood was not invited Lisa Marie‘s funeral following her sudden death from cardiac arrest aged 54 in January, although Priscilla Presley, Lisa Marie’s mother, eventually took him to the ceremony.

It is unclear whether Lisa Marie made provisions for the care of her daughters after her death. Lisa Marie filed for divorce from Lockwood in 2016 after a decade of marriage and they fought over finances and custody of the twins for years until Lisa Marie died.

Lockwood could fight for Lisa’s money

Lockwood’s granting of guardianship of the girls also allows him to represent them in an ongoing probate case over Lisa Marie’s multi-million dollar trust. Priscilla is currently requesting a change Lisa Marie‘s real estate that put Riley Keoughthe eldest daughter of Lisa Marie, responsible.

The change removed Priscilla and Lisa Marie’s former managing director as co-trustees and handed over control of the trust Riley and her brother Benjamin Keoughwho is now deceased.

Priscilla claims she only knew about the 2016 amendment after Lisa Marie’s death, arguing that it should be voided due to several factors, including Lisa Marie’s failure to notify her of the amendments under the terms of the trust .

Despite those legal battles, Priscilla has denied all rumors of a family feud and said at an Evening with Priscilla Presley event in Newcastle, England that the rumors of a battle “coming out of Memphis” are untrue.
