Jeremy Renner remains in critical but stable condition following surgery, a rep for the actor told The Associated Press. The actor remains in an intensive care unit.
The Marvel star, who plays ace archer Clint Barton/Hawkeye in the superhero Avengers films and Disney+ series Hawkeye, suffered blunt chest trauma and orthopedic injuries in a snow plow accident in Reno, Nevada on Sunday, said Renner’s spokesman on Monday.
“Jeremy’s family would like to express their gratitude to the incredible doctors and nurses caring for him, Truckee Meadows Fire and Rescue, the Sheriff of Washoe County, Reno City Mayor Hillary Schieve,” the statement read. “They are also enormously overwhelmed and grateful for the love and support from his fans.”
A statement shared on Sunday with multiple outlets including The Hollywood Reporter, Variety and Deadline, indicated his family is with him while he is being nursed.

The Washoe County Sheriff’s Office said in a press release that Renner was injured in Reno and flown to a hospital. He was the only person involved and the sheriff’s office is investigating, according to the press release.
According to Reno Mayor Hillary Schieve, according to the Reno Gazette Journal, Renner got out of a snowplow he has at his home on the side of a snow mountain to help a stranded car on New Year’s Day when he was run over by his own vehicle.
Renner owns a home in Washoe County, which includes Reno, and told the outlet in 2019 that he chose the area because Reno was the right city for him. It has majestic scenery and allowed him and his family to ski frequently.
Renner, 51, is currently starring in the Paramount+ series Mayor of Kingstown. The second season starts on January 15th.
He is a two-time Oscar nominee for The Hurt Locker (2009) and The Town (2010) with roles in the films Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol (2011), American Hustle (2013). and Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation (2015).
In 2017, he announced that he broke both his arms while filming a stunt on the set of his film Tag.
“I’m kind of a problem solver, you know. It’ll have an effect, but it won’t stop me from doing things that I need to do,” Renner said. “I’ll heal quickly. I’ll do anything to heal faster.”
He found it easy that his Hawkeye moves were “a little bit more painful” as the TV series rolled around.
“I’m 50 and I wear tights. I make this (stuff) look good,” he joked in 2021. “It’s a blessing, man. I take my job seriously, but I never lose sight of the fun.”
