World Environment Day is celebrated on June 5th every year by people and organizations around the world. The day aims to draw attention to the dangers surrounding nature and urges people to speak up and do their part to protect the environment.
World Environment Day was first celebrated in 1973. Since 1987 the event has been held in different countries every year and this year it is being celebrated in Sweden. The theme of World Environment Day 2022 is “One Earth”.

1. Dia Mirza- Rehnaa Hai Terre Dil My Fame Dia Mirza is India’s first Environment Envoy to the United Nations. She has long been a vocal advocate of the need to protect the environment and fight climate change.
2. Rahul Bose – The actor is the founder of Groups of Groups, an umbrella organization of 50 NGOs and trusts. These 50 groups include the Rahul Bose Foundation, which works tirelessly to combat the climate crisis.
3. John Abraham – Bollywood’s hunky hunk is known for his commitment to the environment. He is also one of the famous personalities associated with PETA’s campaigns.
4. Amitabh Bachchan – Legendary actor Amitabh Bachchan has long been associated with environmental campaigns. In addition to his involvement in other environmental campaigns, he has also increased his support for PETA.
5. Alia Bhatt – Alia Bhatt has used her social media platform to raise awareness about the environment and end the use of plastic waste. She also attended last year’s World Environment Day celebrations and shared a picture of herself with a child on the beach.
6. Bhumi Pednekar- Bhumi Pednekar has often used her star power to spread awareness of the need to protect our planet. She also left the Climate Warrior initiative in 2019. She also often supports beach clean-up projects
