Prince Harry, 38, and Meghan Markle, 41, are now in “uncharted territory” as more celebrities ridicule the couple, a royal family expert has reasoned.
Australian actress Rebel Wilson and US comedian Chris Rock both recently appeared on The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, which were also satirized last month during a spoof episode of cutting American cartoon-comedy sitcom South Park.

And while Harry and Meghan are used to facing media criticism, Jo Elvin – editor of Mail on Sunday’s You Magazine and host of the Palace Confidential Podcast – believes it’s a whole new ballgame and could hurt the Celebs jokes about being the Sussexes anymore.
Ms Elvin said: “You may be used to media criticism but this celebrity criticism is pretty new territory, isn’t it? These are other celebrities throwing a pop at them.”

In response, Richard Eden, the Daily Mail’s diary editor, agreed, adding: “They’re going to have trouble enjoying this, especially the Chris Rock part is going to hurt them. They were proud of their ties to the black community, they were committed to Black Lives Matter.
“They were very, very proud of the civil rights award they received from the NAACP. It was in her Netflix series.
“The fact that they’re laughed at by Chris Rock and a largely black audience I don’t think will go over well with them.”

Ms Elvin then remarked: “It’s going to sweat a bit.”
Rock attacked Meghan on his newly released Netflix show Selective Outrage.
He expressed his frustration at some of the allegations the Duchess has leveled against the royal family since she and her husband stepped down from official duties in 2020.
The comedian also questioned Meghan’s claims that she never researched her husband or his family before joining the royal flock.

Rock said: “It’s the royal family. You didn’t google those motherfuckers?
“What the hell is she talking about, ‘She didn’t know?’ It’s like marrying into the Budweiser family and saying, ‘You drink a lot’.”
PR guru Matt Yanofsky, meanwhile, told the Mirror that “Meghan and Harry are no longer untouchable in the US,” arguing that the South Park episode “ripped the pavement down” so people could poke fun at the couple .
He said: “By satirizing the couple, they gave other people permission to finally say what they think of Meghan and Harry, similar to what we saw on Chris Rock’s stand-up special.”
