Famous patients with social influence are ‘just getting started’ – Endpoints News

BioNTech Chief Strategy Officer Ryan Richardson highlighted the differences between his company’s cancer vaccine and another being developed by Moderna and Merck as the companies compete for part of a potentially important new product class.

Richardson was speaking at an investment conference hosted by SVB Securities last week and his comments were detailed in an analyst note.

BioNTech has several mRNA cancer candidates in the works, including for advanced melanoma, ovarian cancer and non-small cell lung cancer, according to its website. The rivalry with Moderna and Merck centers on its individualized vaccine RO7198457 (aka BNT122), which it calls Individualized Neoantigen-Specific Immunotherapy, or iNeST. It is developing the vaccine with Genentech.
