DJ Jazzy Jeff defends Will Smith’s slap: ‘He should’ve smacked someone sooner’

DJ Jazzy Jeff was there Will Smiths Corner, because the now actor was just an aspiring musician as a teenager. They’ve been through thick and thin together, which is why he won’t do anything but defend him for everything he does. In fact, Jazzy is convinced that given the amount of harassment he suffers both online and in real life, Will Smith probably should have hit someone before he did. He is convinced that the blow against Chris Rock is nothing more than a manifestation of years of abuse by everyone against him. But Jazzy probably doesn’t offer the best advice asking Will Smith to get therapy for the way he’s acting right now.

In his first statement after all that happened, DJ Jazzy Jeff was quoted by the New York Post as saying, “Don’t misrepresent that it was something he was proud of. It was a misjudgment, you know? I think I’ve realized that I don’t know too many people who are least wrong than himself. I can name 50 times that [Will] should have kicked the shit out of someone and he didn’t. So if he has a misjudgment, he is a human being. And I think a lot of the criticism comes from people who don’t think people like that are human.”

Can Will Smith eventually recover from this?

It’s not like his entire career will end after what happened, we’re still talking about one of the most powerful celebrities in the world. Also, he has not committed a heinous crime like other disgraced celebrities have done. Will Smith and his entire family will not only recover from this, they will likely come back stronger. You can expect a comeback story like no other in recent history and from a simple slap in the face. Will Smith’s publicist is already planning how the actor will triumphantly return after a brief hiatus from the public eye.
