Channel 4 Celebrity Hunted viewers complain over ‘missing celebrities’ minutes into new series
Viewers of Celebrity Hunted were left furious on Tuesday night as they complained that the Channel 4 show was “lacking” celebrities despite its celebrity title.
The first episode of the new series kicked off tonight with many fans eager to see how the drama unfolds.
The program, the first of Series 5, saw 10 supposedly famous faces on the run from a team of highly trained former police and intelligence officers in the hope of avoiding being caught.

Shrewsbury Prison was broken out by Strictly’s Katya Jones, as well as former Olympic snowboarder Aimee Fuller, comedians and podcasters Ed Gamble and James Acaster, life coaches Nik and Eva Speakman and YouTuber Saffron Barker, and University Challenge mathematician Bobby Seagull .
Actress and broadcast journalist Nicola Thorp was also on the run but had to go alone as her partner, Starstruck actor Nikesh Patel, stayed at home recovering from Covid.
Despite all the chaos, fans claimed they didn’t recognize the stars on their TV screens and that the “Z-list” celebrities just weren’t famous enough.
@scubasteve1414 tweeted: “Celebrity hunt without the celebrities. “Can the famous really go away?” Yes, if you don’t know them! YouTube star is supposed to be a household name. #hunted #celebrityhunted.”
@swannxix commented: “I thought it was a celebrity being hunted pffft #CelebrityHunted.” @and67k said: “The hunters are going to have a hard time tracking down the celebrities this year because god knows who most of them are! #CelebrityHunted.”
@wiltsrednecks99 asked: “I’m still trying to hunt down who the celebrity is. I know Bobby Seagull, otherwise no idea! Just me? #CelebrityHunted.”
@ShaunCrowhurst joked, “God, the hunters are more famous than these ‘celebs’ #CelebrityHunted.” @MattZeeMiller admitted, “I definitely prefer the non-celebrity version, a bit too much like a bad comedy show, #CelebrityHunted so far.” .”

Elsewhere in the show, some viewers were unable to watch the first episode due to a technical glitch on Channel 4.
