Although deaths from driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs (DUI) have declined, more than 10,000 Americans are still killed by drunk drivers annually, according to SafeHome.org. In addition, 10 percent of all criminal arrests across the country are related to drink driving. Many people have been arrested and caught for DUIs, including some A-listers. Justin Bieber, Lindsay Lohan, Paris Hilton, Khloé Kardashian; unfortunately the list goes on and on. Although all too common, drinking and driving is a serious offense and puts the lives of all road users at risk.

Sometimes people do it once when they’re young, but other times it’s the by-product of a crippling addiction. More than 20 million people in the US have an addiction, according to DrugHelpline. It’s not something to wipe off. Some have called their DUI charges a wake-up call, and we’re glad they got the help they need. And we hope the rest can too.
