The Masked Singer has featured almost everyone from JoJo Siwa to Gladys Knight, but there are still plenty of stars who would do well on the show. Some celebs haven’t made it into the series yet. The singing competition show is gearing up for its eighth season and fans can’t wait to see which famous faces are hiding behind the new costumes. So far, fans have caught a glimpse of Avocado, Bride, Venus Fly Trap and Sir Bugaboo. The trailer also teased some new costumes, including a harp design and what appears to be a mummy or sarcophagus.

The Masked Singer season 8 is said to have more participants than ever before and also more celebrity guests. Season 1 finalist Donny Osmond appeared in the trailer, along with The Muppets’ Miss Piggy and series regular Joel McHale. Panelists Robin Thicke, Jenny McCarthy, Ken Jeong and Nicole Scherzinger return along with moderator Nick Cannon. The panelists and host have appeared on the series since the first season aired in 2019.
During the final episode, the main cast included reggae singer Shaggy and season-winning singer Teyana Taylor. She was victorious just months after her husband Iman Shumpert won Dancing With the Stars with his partner Danielle Karagach. Other seasons have starred as Bella Thorne, Dionne Warwick, Nick Lachey and Lil Wayne. While there has been an abundance of celebrities on the show in the past, there are still so many others who would add some serious entertainment value to the show.
Idina Menzel & Kristin Chenoweth would stun the masked singer
The only downside to this dynamic duo competing on The Masked Singer would be how quickly panellists would guess their identities from their distinctive voices. Broadway stars are no strangers to the show, and last season, Dream Girls icon Jennifer Holliday starred as Miss Teddy. If Wicked’s first Elphaba and Glinda appeared in the series, Broadway fans would never forget it.
The Jersey Shore cast would be fun, the Masked Singer additions
While The Masked Singer has seen some incredible voices throughout the season, contestants don’t have to be trained singers to perform on the show…just ask Wendy Williams. Jersey Shore fans loved seeing Vinny Guadagnino in The Masked Dancer, but any of the cast members would do well on the series. Maybe they could all team up and wear the biggest group costume the show has ever seen.
Darren Criss would add spice to the masked singer
With all the talent on Glee, it’s hard to believe none of the main stars were on The Masked Singer. Cheyenne Jackson, who has guest-starred a few times on the show, was a Season 7 finalist, and Darren herself has been guessed by panelists in the past. Lea Michele may be busy with her Funny Girl debut, but Darren would make an excellent The Masked Singer actor.
Tony Danza would sizzle over the masked singer
The best thing about The Masked Singer is that it appeals to all generations. Fans cheering for JoJo Siwa didn’t really have a sense of the Who’s The Boss alum’s identity, but those cheering for Paul Anka and Donny Osmond would. The actor has released two albums in his career and could definitely make his mark on the show.
A Disney princess could appear on The Masked Singer
A surefire way to get Disney fans to check out the show would be to feature one of the legendary princesses’ voices. Paige O’Hara, who voiced Belle in 1991’s Beauty and the Beast, would be incredible, but luckily there are a variety of women who could fill the role. 21-year-old Auli’i Cravalho, the voice of Moana, would also wow panelists and fans of The Masked Singer with her incredible singing.
Gloria Gaynor would be a great choice for The Masked Singer
Another iconic performer that The Masked Singer panelists have guessed countless times is Gloria Gaynor. The disco-era singer would do well on the show, but might have to work hard to hide her famous voice. While younger fans may not have been alive during her debut, there isn’t a person in the studio audience who wouldn’t be familiar with her 1978 hit “I Will Survive.” Gloria is an actress that fans of all ages would love to see in the series.
The Masked Singer Season 8 premieres Wednesday, September 21 at 8 p.m. EDT on FOX.
