Celebrities who joined relief drive for ‘Odette’ victims

typhoon “Odette”, which swept through Visayas and Mindanao last week, displacing thousands.

Based on the current management report of National Council for Disaster Risk Reduction and Management, a total of 348,642 homes were damaged while affecting more than 3.3 million people.

On December 24, the NDRRMC reported 326 dead, 58 missing and 661 injured.

With this in mind, some celebrities joined in relief efforts to help the victims of Odette in different parts of the country.

Here are some celebrities who have taken initiatives to help Odette survivors:

Nadine Luster

actress and singer Nadine Luster helped install a solar powered charging station in Siargao, together with members of Greenpeace Philippines, as the power lines have failed in most parts of the island.

Aside from that, Luster was also seen handing out relief supplies with her alleged friend Christophe Bariou. Luster has lived between Siargao and Manila for the past few months,

Kryz Uy and Slater Young

The Cebu-based couple and content creators Kryz Uy and Slater Young, who experienced the typhoon firsthand, went out of their way to help the typhoon victims. The couple organized a relief effort. Young, who works in construction, also borrowed his heavy equipment to clear the streets.

Kris aquino

Kris Aquino went to Kabangkalan and Himamaylan in Negros Occidental to distribute shopping bags.

The Queen of All Media said she is over the Christmas holidays with her boyfriend Mel Sarmiento, but she said she was constantly communicating with her friends to help.

“I don’t want you to think that because of the strength and severity of typhoon #odette, I am affected by what our Filipino citizens are going through,” Aquino said in an Instagram post.

Angel Locsin

K -amilya star Angel Locsin also joined the relief efforts. Aquino announced that Locsin has donated 2 million pesos to help the victims.

Locsin was also spotted arriving at a disaster relief center in Katipunan. Locsin was named “Heroes of Philanthropy” by Forbes Asia in 2019 and one of the “Most Influential” personalities of Tatler Asia.

Andi Eigenmann

Siargao-based actress Andi Eigenmann shared Odette’s anger. She promised to donate the proceeds from her vlog to the people of the island.

“Siargao has brought so much magic into my life and this will be our way of giving back to our community. To our home, “she wrote in an Instagram post.

Willie Revillame

TV presenter Willie Revillame donated 9 million pesos to typhoon victims in Siargao. He also drove straight to the island and brought two helicopters to help the people.

Sharon Cuneta

“Megastar” Sharon Cuneta also joined the relief operations in Cebu with her husband Sen. Kiko Pangilinan.

She shared photos of it on her Instagram account.
