Jennifer Lawrence rose to megastardom after starring in 2012’s The Hunger Games.
But the mother-of-one felt the price of fame after falling victim to trolling, nude leaks and a paparazzi invasion.
At the age of 23 in 2013, Lawrence first spoke openly about the lack of privacy she was afforded simply because she was a well-known celebrity.
“If I were just your average 23-year-old girl and I called the police to say that weird men were sleeping on my lawn and were following me to Starbucks, they would jump into action right away,” Lawrence told Vogue.
“But because I’m a famous person, well, sorry ma’am, there’s nothing we can do. It makes no sense.”
After retiring from Hollywood and going into hiding for several years, Lawrence returned to the spotlight in 2021 with an emotional interview with Vanity Fair about how difficult the past decade had been.
“I just think everyone got fed up with me. I was fed up. It just got to a point where I couldn’t do anything right,” she recalled.
“When I walked a red carpet, it was, ‘Why didn’t she run?’ … I think I’ve been pleasing to people for most of my life.”
