Celebrity friends and admirers of Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck congratulated the couple on their surprise wedding over the weekend.
“Congratulations!” Vanessa Bryant commented on a photo of the Marry Me star – who rekindled her romance with Affleck in 2021 – in bed with her wedding ring.
“Love is patient and punctual. Happy birthday my darling,” wrote TV personality Hoda Kotb, while Brad Goreski commented, “Huge congratulations! How wonderful!”
“Happily ever after💗💗💗💗,” trainer Tracy Anderson commented, while Kerry Washington left a bevy of heart-eyed emojis.
Real Housewives of Orange County star Heather Dubrow and Kim Kardashian both commented with heart emojis.
Her “Second Act” colleague Vanessa Hudgens also expressed her happiness for the “Let’s Get Loud” singer.
“I was literally scrolling through Instagram and I saw this and gasped,” the High School Musical grad told E! News after the announcement.

“I’m so happy for her. I love her. She deserves the whole world, and I just love a romance that comes full circle. It is so sweet.”
The newlyweds met while filming Gigli in 2001, when Lopez was still married to Cris Judd. Following their divorce, she became engaged to the ‘Good Will Hunting’ star in November 2002, but they called it quits two days before the ceremony.

Lopez would go on to say Affleck was “her first major heartbreak,” but the couple reunited in 2021 after Affleck split from Ana de Armas and Lopez split from Alex Rodriguez.
They dated seriously for months before he popped the question – for the second time – and confirmed they were engaged in April 2022.

In the July 17 issue of her newsletter, On The JLo, she announced that they were officially husband and wife.
“We made it. Love is beautiful. Love is kind. And turns out love is patient. Twenty years patient,” she wrote of the Las Vegas ceremony, noting that it was “exactly what we wanted”.
“Last night we flew into Vegas, queued for a license with four other couples and all made the same trip to the wedding capital of the world. Behind us, two men were holding hands and holding on. Before us, a young couple who made the three-hour drive from Victorville on their daughter’s second birthday—we all want the same thing—for the world to recognize us as partners and for the world to recognize our love through the ancient and almost universal symbol of marriage ‘ she continued.

Lopez also said she wore “a dress from an old movie” as they exchanged vows in the “little chapel” and “gave each other the rings that we’ll wear for the rest of our lives.”
“We barely made it to the little white wedding chapel at midnight,” she revealed. “They graciously stayed open for a few minutes, letting us take photos in a pink Cadillac convertible which was apparently once used by the king himself (but if we wanted Elvis to show himself it cost extra and he was in bed) .”
