Bollywood celebrities mourn sudden demise of Rituraj Singh

Mumbai: Bollywood actor Rituraj Singh's sudden death due to cardiac arrest has sent shockwaves across the film industry. Several Bollywood stars took to X, formerly Twitter, to express their condolences on the actor's death.

With a career spanning over three decades, Rituraj was known for his work in shows like Banegi Apni Baat, Tehkikaat, Kutumb, Jyoti, Beintehaa and most recently Anupamaa.

Filmmaker Hansal Mehta expressed his sadness over the death of Rituraj and wrote on X, “Rituraj!!!! I can not believe that! I briefly directed him in a daily soap called K Street Pali Hill, but we became good friends along the way. It's been a while since we've been together, but I have such fond memories. Undeveloped actor and a warm person. Suddenly and too soon disappeared.”

Actor Manoj Bajpayee wrote a note for his friend that said, “How can this be true, Ritz?” Why? Such devastating news to wake up to! Rest in peace, Rituraj, my friend! Om Shanti.” Varun Dhawan, who had shared screen time with Rituraj in the 2017 romantic comedy “Badrinath Ki Dulhania”, also expressed his condolences on the actor's demise.

Varun played the lead character of Badrinath in the film while Rituraj portrayed his father's role. The 36-year-old actor wrote, “#rip Rituraj sir had such a wonderful time working with him and had met him just a few months ago on the sets of Baby John. Om Shanti.”

Sonu Sood shared a picture of Rituraj on X and said, “RIP Bhai”. Arshad Warsi expressed his sadness over the death of Rituraj. In a post on miss you brother…”

Rituraj was discharged from the hospital after being admitted due to a stomach infection. But his health deteriorated last night.
