‘Billionaire bunker’: 9 celebrities with property in the Miami neighbourhood besides Amazon’s Jeff Bezos and fiancée Lauren Sánchez – so who bought a mansion from Beyoncé and Jay-Z?
In October, Bezos bought a seven-bedroom mansion for $79 million, which sits next to another waterfront mansion he bought earlier this summer for $68 million.
As the name suggests, Bezos’ new, exclusive neighborhood is home to a handful of very wealthy people, including sports superstars and pop stars.

The “Billionaire’s Bunker,” officially known as Indian Creek, is a heavily guarded, man-made barrier island with its own police force. The exclusive village has 41 neighborhoods and is one of the highest-income neighborhoods in the country, consistently with fewer than 100 residents, according to the Miami-Dade Beacon Council.

1. Billionaire investor Carl Icahn

Carl Icahn bought his 14,000 square foot home out of foreclosure in 1997 for just $7.5 million. It’s now worth nearly $47 million, according to Zillow estimates.
According to Bloomberg, the billionaire investor, who derives his fortune from an 89 percent stake in Icahn Enterprises, has a net worth of nearly $6 billion.
2. Tom Brady and his ex-wife, supermodel Gisele Bündchen

After their divorce in 2022, the two handed over their building plans. According to the New York Post, Brady has since taken out a $35 million loan to build a new bachelor pad, while Bündchen has purchased a home in nearby Surfside for $11.5 million.
Bündchen’s colleague at Victoria’s Secret, Adriana Lima, lived in the area until 2022, when she sold her four-bedroom, four-bathroom waterfront mansion for $40 million after selling it for just $9 million in 2009, according to Property News US dollars had purchased website The Real Deal.

DJ David Guetta was reportedly in talks to purchase a waterfront home on Indian Creek Island for $69 million in August.
4. Spanish singer-songwriter Julio Iglesias

Spanish singer-songwriter Julio Iglesias paid around $15.2 million for a property on the island in 2012.
According to Forbes, it is one of several properties Iglesias owns on the island. And he sold one of them to celebrity plastic surgeon Aaron Rollins for $30 million in 2020, according to The Real Deal.
5. Car dealership tycoon Norman Braman

Car dealer tycoon Norman Braman bought a home on the island in 1991 for $3.9 million.
According to Zillow estimates, the 19,000-square-foot, eight-bedroom, eight-and-a-half bathroom estate is now worth over $49 million.

6. Real estate developer Irwin Tauber

Real estate developer Irwin Tauber owns a huge, 24,716 square meter, eight-bedroom villa in the “Billionaire’s Bunker,” which also has a tennis court.
Tauber and his wife paid $7 million for it in 2003.
7. Hedge fund titan Eddie Lampert

Former Sears CEO and hedge fund titan Eddie Lampert dropped $38.4 million for a property on the island in March 2012.
The seven-bedroom, Italian-style mansion has 11 full bathrooms, sits on 1.1 hectares (2.7 acres) and is worth more than $77 million, according to Zillow.
8. Businessman Jared Kushner and his wife Ivanka Trump

Kushner and Trump spent around $32 million on property on the island in 2020.
The nearly 0.8-hectare (two-acre) property was previously owned by Iglesias, and the couple subsequently purchased a six-bedroom, eight-and-a-half-bathroom home for $24 million in 2021, according to the Miami Herald.
