As concerns about President Biden’s age continue to weigh on the 2024 presidential campaign, “The View” host Ana Navarro has a suggestion for him: Run an ad featuring celebrities of a certain age. Among these older celebrities? Her co-hosts Whoopi Goldberg and Joy Behar.
Monday’s episode of the ABC talk show was dedicated to celebrating Whoopi’s 68th birthday, but they managed to sneak in a hot topic at the start of the show. That subject was Carol Alt, who joined OnlyFans at the age of 62.
Most of the women on “The View” were mostly supportive, saying it was just another example of opposing ageism. Finally, moderator Ana Navarro offered an idea for how Biden himself could combat ageism.
“I always think that the Biden campaign should do a commercial where they show Martha Stewart and Mick Jagger, who’s on tour, and, you know, Gladys Knight,” Age said. “And Lupe Lopez and Whoopi Goldberg, everyone! And Joy Behar!”
Navarro also mentioned Harrison Ford as a possible option since he and Behar are both currently 81 years old.
Whoopi laughed at the idea but quickly took the issue seriously again, as she was a vocal critic of ageism.
“Age is really — it’s going to happen if you’re lucky enough to do it,” she said. “It happens, it’s a privilege. But you know, never count someone out based on the number associated with them.”
“The View” airs daily at 11 a.m. ET on ABC.
