Hollywood and fashion stars pulled out all the stops with sumptuous gowns and dazzling jewelry at the red carpet for the 2023 Cannes Film Festival on the French Riviera. The event, which started on May 16, 2023, will last until May 27. Among the many celebrities who graced the event were Brie Larson, Helen Mirren, Naomi Campbell, Catherine Zeta-Jones and Charlotte Casiraghi, among others.

Taking center stage was Brie Larson, Marvel actress and part of this year’s star judging panel, dressed in a voluminous gold silk gown with an embroidered V-neck bodice. According to media reports, the garment, which was first shown on Chanel’s Resort 2024 runway, signaled her loyalty to the brand as part of her ambassador deal.

Welsh film icon Catherine Zeta-Jones wore a flowy red and fuchsia ombre dress by Elie Saab from the Spring/Summer 2022 collection. Elsewhere, Uma Thurman made a stunning entrance in a pink Dior gown paired with a scarlet opera coat and Chopard jewelry.

The Queen of Monaco, Charlotte Casiraghi, chose to grace the dinner in Chanel couture, while French filmmaker Julia Ducournau wore a voluminous, structured creation by Givenchy.

The opening ceremony of the 76th Cannes Film Festival shone brightly with a parade of glittering stars including Gong Li, Catherine Deneuve and Pom Klementieff. Victoria Silvstedt and Chinese actress Fan Bingbing also graced the premiere of Jeanne du Barry in a tiered butter yellow dress and a Christopher Bu tiger print dress respectively.

French model Cindy Bruna looked gorgeous in an oversized Prince of Wales check suit with ruffle detailing, complemented by a Pomellato necklace.

Quite a few Indian celebrities also made an impression with their fashion choices at the global spectacle.

Sara Ali Khan paid tribute to her heritage in her Cannes Film Festival debut, wearing an intricately hand-embroidered ivory and beige lehenga by designers Abu Jani and Sandeep Khosla.

For her debut appearance in Cannes, Esha Gupta chose an elegant and sensual white Nicholas Jebran gown that was tastefully cinched at the waist.

Manushi Chhillar, wearing a white strapless dress by Fovari, paired her outfit with a diamond and emerald necklace by Renu Oberoi to enhance her overall look.

Former Miss Universe Urvashi Rautela wasn’t shy about making a statement in a striking pink tulle gown, finishing her ensemble with a voluminous topknot.
