WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) – A Kansas betting site, BetKansas.com, published a list of the top 10 most popular Kansans, and four of those are from Wichita.
The list used a keyword explorer and looked to Google Trends to see the most searched for Kansas celebrities over the past 12 months. Search volume for Gaines has increased 150,000 times in the last year.
The first Wichitan comes in third on the list, Joanna Gaines. She and her husband Chip are the stars of the show Fixer-Upper. Based in Waco, Texas, the couple renovate homes. The couple have five children and also founded and operates Magnolia Network.

Directly below Gaines is an actor Kirstie Alley, which has accumulated 153,000 search volumes over the past 12 months. Alley is best known for playing Rebecca Howe on Cheers.
Number six on the list is NFL running back Barry Sanders. The Wichita North product was a standout player in the state of Oklahoma before spending nine years in the NFL with the Detroit Lions. Sanders has won too many awards to name them all, including an NFL MVP award in 1997 and a Pro Bowl pick-up ten times in his career.
Ninth on the list is Jeff Probst. He is best known for hosting the Emmy Award-winning reality show Survivor, which he has been doing since 2000.
Hotel north of Wichita becomes church and school
The top two were actors Paul Rudd and Jason Sudeikis from Lenexa and Overland Park respectively. Rudd has been in films since the ’90s and has played the role of Ant Man in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Sudeiki’s most famous role is in Ted Lasso, an Apple TV+ show that portrays an American football coach who travels to London to coach an English Premier League team.
