The IOC launches the Olympism365 Innovation Hub to support innovative sport-based development projects

The Innovation Hub is a tailored program and fund that will support 50 Sport for Development grantees (athletes, coaches, innovators, sports and social organizations) around the world through a multi-million dollar investment until 2026 will benefit thousands of people and communities.

“Given the growing and complex challenges facing many communities, it is becoming increasingly important to evolve and innovate the way sport and Olympism can be mobilized to contribute to healthier, safer and more inclusive societies,” explains Ollie Dudfield, deputy director of IOC Olympism365.

“The Olympism365 Innovation Hub will ensure that new ideas and new technologies are used to maximize the social impact of sport. “It will help develop and implement innovative approaches that use sport and Olympism to contribute to sustainable development, particularly by providing more opportunities for people to benefit from safe, inclusive and sustainable community sport,” Dudfield added.

The new two-and-a-half year program will be delivered in collaboration with Beyond Sport and Women Win, two leading social impact organizations.

Beyond Sport is a global foundation that invests in organizations, programs and networks that use sport to have a positive community impact. and Women Win is a women's fund that uses the power of sport to advance the rights of girls and women.

Fred Turner, Managing Director of Beyond Sport, added: “Beyond Sport has always believed that bringing together people from different backgrounds and experiences, united by a cause, can spark transformative change.” We are therefore delighted the opportunity presented by our collaboration with the IOC and Women Win to create a center at the intersection of sport, technology and social impact.”

“Women Win is at the forefront of empowering adolescent girls and young women and the organizations that support them, particularly those that are overlooked by mainstream funding or have been historically marginalized. Embracing innovation and taking bold risks are at the heart of our mission to reach these underserved communities,” concludes Nicole Matuska, GRLS Director of Women Win.
